Buckinghamshire allocations 01 March 2023

Post by scary mum »

I am setting up this thread in advance of the Buckinghamshire allocations next Wednesday.

This year's allocation distances are here
Updated with the 12 May allocations - follow the link above.

Please post any questions you may have on here, but please note - do not post scores if you are asking about the chances of getting in. In Bucks they are irrelevant over 121, but distance will be important. Any scores over 121 which are posted will be removed by moderators as it is simply boasting.

If you are wanting to appeal for a place, please start your own thread in Appeals as it will get lost in here. Please read all the information here as many of your questions may already have been answered.
It will help if you name your appeals thread "[Username's] appeal, Bucks".

Please also see the How to appeal for a Bucks GS place 2023 sticky.

Good luck everyone. Please be sensitive to others who may not have had the news they were hoping for.

Thanks so much for doing this.

We have qualified via the SR process and are now eagerly awaiting the outcome of National Offer Day.

Our main concern is living in Slough and wanting a Bucks grammar school.

According to Bucks website, Find My School we live 2.42miles from Burnham Grammar school. It is interesting to note that the website then states that BGS last took in children 2.24miiles outside catchment.

So we are agonisingly close but yet so far!

Plus I'm worried the catchment may reduce in size again which it has for the past few years

I suppose we can only wait and see ..

Thanks

So happy! Thought we didn’T have a high chance on distance given it was a high birth rate year (50% at most) but we got an offer from Wycombe High!

occasionally there are people in different LEAs where the results are issued at midnight - might be the case here

Based on previous allocations it's not surprising, but you can go on the waiting lists & appeal. Did you get something you would be happy with?

We didn't get any of our 6 choices.
Not happy with the school we were allocated.
Let's hope something changes in later rounds.

You can appeal as well as going on waiting lists, so if you want to do that you can head over to our appeals section. Have you looked at the previous allocations & worked out which you are most likely to get?
As soon as this year's allocation distances are published on the Bucks website I will add the link to the first post in this thread.
