Kendrick Change of Admissions Consultation
Following their expansion plans, Kendrick have now proposed a new admissions policy:
https://www.kendrick.reading.sch.uk/new ... storyid=61" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It seems as though they will drop the qualifying mark by 5 points (in line with Reading School?) for Looked After girls and PP girls within catchment.
I'm unsure at this stage as to whether the distinction of catchment areas will make any difference, as applied by their oversubscription criteria...
Deadline for comments is Tuesday 22nd January 2019, details on the school site ^^
They are proposing a priority catchment Area 1, which will be these postcodes:
RG1 RG2 0, RG2 6, RG2 7, RG2 8 RG30 1, RG30 2, RG30 3, RG30 4, RG30 6 RG31 4, RG31 5, RG31 6, RG31 7 RG4 5, RG4 6, RG4 7, RG4 8 RG5 3 RG6 1, RG6 5, RG6 6, RG6 7
An outer catchment, Area 2:

Re: Kendrick Change of Admissions Consultation
Would be nice to see the new areas on a map. Especially on my side of Reading
Seems the extra places should go to locals, something I was personally keen to see.
The key will be if they can encourage more PP applicants to take the test in the first because at the moment the numbers are tiny. Hopefully these changes might help, along the outreach program.
(And yes I seem to remember that Reading are doing the same lowering of score for PP applicants too.)

Re: Kendrick Change of Admissions Consultation
I’ve just had a closer look at the postcodes for the priority 1 area and have to say there are a couple of weird anomalies, looking at what is in and what is out. However in general it looks reasonable.

Re: Kendrick Change of Admissions Consultation
they might be based on demographic data of where the most PP girls live?
