how does this work?
A poster wrote....
"langley grammar 572 passed
st bernands 110 passed from 362
Herschel would not give out any information"
How does this actually work? The consortium schools all have the same
paper, and so if the child passes Langley, then they have effectively passed the other two schools as well?
Or is this saying "For Langley, 572 children who put them as no 1
on their CAF passed; for St Bernards, 362 children put them as no 1 but only 110 passed" etc?
And what does 'passed' mean? Does it mean that the children got 111 and above? Or does it mean the un-official pass mark of 121 for Langley?
My DS got 118 standardised, and he put Langley at no 1, so hence a little
concerned.
Many thanks in advance.

Passed would mean 'achieved the pass mark' - 111
I would have thought that St B's have given us the passes out of the number that sat the exam at 'St B's'.
As there is no more info on the Langley figure I couldn't hazard a guess.
118 has historically seen an offer coming from Langley but it may not be in the first round.

Thanks
Thanks for the clarification!
Just for reference, not all consortium-applicants sit the exam in
Langley/Hershel/St Bernards - my son goes to St Bernards Prep school,
and everyone in his year sat the consortium exam in the prep school.
Hence, not appearing in the figures of 572 although most of his
class-mates put Langley as first choice, and almost all of the 30+ kids
passed the exam.
Great forum, and great advice. Thanks guys!
