[quote="Jenny R"]I have done some analysis to understad why the qualifying score has been dropped from 110 to 107.

First, the number of children qualified this year from outside catchment are 109, which is very high compare to previous years.

But even in children in the catchment are more than the previous year

Hi all, my D passed with a mark 109.80 & very proud of her can anyone advise if this would be enough to get in as were are in the catchment area & do we need to put Kendrick as our 1st choice to have a chance. With this score I wouldn’t want to risk losing out on our local school. Thanks to this forum

It’s a bit more difficult to judge this year but I’m not sure that score will get a place. However you won’t damage your chances if your local school by putting it second.

Hi all, my DD just passed and i don't think she stand a chance to get in. she sat her text in the morning with issue of the audio problem (on and off not working). we didn't make a complain to the school. Think a bit too late now. i am just wonder how other DD sat in the morning test?

As the standardisation is based on the z-score and standard deviations, so the school can always adjust it based on the in-catchment number vs the PAN, so lowering the qualifying score is irrelevant to the increase/decrease of the in-catchment number (as long as the sample size is large enough). The only effect on lowering the qualifying score is allow (i) looked after child (CAT1) and (ii) PP/SP child (CAT2) better chance to get in. The effect will be increasing the social mobility, whether it is something to do with the upcoming PAN increase or not. I have two boys so I am not following Kendrick much in the forum, sure some others would have better view on this.
