Re: Anxious parents (and son) needing advice
And some people will even manage to fill all 6 preferences with GS; but the average is about 2.
Re: Anxious parents (and son) needing advice
In that case what happens with worse case and all 6 GS don't offer? Does candidate get onto local school waiting list?
Re: Anxious parents (and son) needing advice
You get offered the closest one with a space.
Re: Anxious parents (and son) needing advice
Which again won't be the closest one; advice is to put local one down on the form
Re: Anxious parents (and son) needing advice
Indeed. So my CAF changes again as the sensible option is to put one "sure thing" down.
Re: Anxious parents (and son) needing advice

You must make sure you put your 'sure thing' down as your last choice, because if you don't and for some reason don't get a GS you will be offered the closest school with spaces, which could be the back end of nowhere

I think the old system of not knowing must have been better, do the exam and then a yes or no! This system is just mythering everyone and no one is any the wiser anyway! Suppose worse as first year, next year be less anxious for people!
