Congratulations, Orianagirl :D

There's a real sense of team spirit at KEA so I'm sure your ds will be very happy there ( ds2 also there, is currently in Y8 so feel free to pm if you need any info).

Thanks DIY Mum. Yes it was the wonderful friendly atmosphere at KEA that made it DS's favourite school of all those we looked around at Open Days and having been to the welcome evening it just confirmed that we have made the right choice.

Now updated with official news from the KE Foundation

King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys: 240 - 2012 was 234, up 6 Places not initially offered to all 240 scores. 238 was 18th on waiting list, 235 was 42nd. Place offered from waiting list for score of 238.
King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls: 229 - 2012 was 225, up 4 225 is 22nd on waiting list
King Edward VI Five Ways School: 227 - 2012 was 225, up 2 225 offered from waiting list (originally 26th)
King Edward VI Aston School: 220 - 2012 was 216, up 4 Places not offered to all 220 scores. 213 is 102nd on waiting list
King Edward VI Handsworth School: 216 - 2012 was 215, up 1 215 is 12th on waiting list

others:
Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School for Boys: 217 - 2012 was 212, up 5 216 = 13th on waiting list, offers from waiting list to 215
Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls: 215 - 2012 was 210, up 5 Places not offered to all 215 scores. 213 = 37th on waiting list, 211 = 65th; 214 offered from waiting list

Adams Grammar School (Newport) (boys): rank 150 offered
Newport High School for Girls: rank 152 offered
Wolverhampton High School for Girls: rank 132 offered
Queen Mary’s Grammar School (boys): rank 297 was lowest offered
Queen Mary’s High School (girls): rank 256 offered (rank 294 offered subject to confirmation)
Just thought this post might help people get an idea as to how the extra places may relate to scores. My reading is - I haven't a clue what it means.
