If Birmingham are not giving out waiting list info until 26th, none of the schools that usually handle their own lists will be able to make offers will they? Including the foundation?kenyancowgirl wrote:I don't agree that there won't be any waiting list movement till after this date, just that, unless it affects your particular child, you won't know about it.

There are many questions to ask
I think the KE Foundation will be giving out places well before 26 March - and if you look at the 2017 waiting list movement thread there was quite a bit of movement before then, but since Bham LA won't be doing this and they control the admissions for Bishop Vesey and Sutton Coldfield Girls', this could lead to some confusion.
Children could be in receipt of waiting list offers for KE schools towards the middle and end of March without having an idea where they stand on the list for the schools above.
It's also not clear what the Walsall and Warks grammar schools are doing - children do apply to and travel from Bham to these.

Um, if schools (and the foundation) are not given the waiting lists, how can they make offers?
Re: 7 days to go and the countdown is on!!
I understand that the foundation tend to manage their own waiting lists.

Yes they do, like a lot of schools. But how do they get the lists in the first place? From Birmingham council.
Re: 7 days to go and the countdown is on!!
Is it that they will share lists with the schools who allocate the places, just not divulge this information to parents? They must have a deluge of calls every 1st March and are just trying to stem the flow - sure they will have the same problem come 26th though!!

I think it is exactly that, helen0209...the movement will happen as the schools etc will speak to each other and the parents of the children involved, just not the wider parents and kids.

Apologies - stupid questions coming up.. where on the forum are the Solihull offers likely to be posted on Wednesday please? Will it be on the 2018 allocations thread? Is it likely that some Walsall offers will be posted on there from Solihull applicants? Thanks!
Re: 7 days to go and the countdown is on!!
Offers for B’ham schools are generally on one thread and Walsall / Wolves / Shropshire on another. If someone from Solihull has been offered a Walsall school it will be on the applicable thread. However, generally there aren’t many due to the distance to get to the schools so they don’t put them on their CAF.Lategate wrote:Apologies - stupid questions coming up.. where on the forum are the Solihull offers likely to be posted on Wednesday please? Good luck for Thursday
