I am a fan of the books written by Michael Morpurgo... to the point that I have left the library today with one of his books, the one published last March

My daughter and I are reading this book at the moment. We love the book and I have thought about getting tickets for us. Would love to go see it. We have just paid out though for a different show at the hippodrome as a treat for my daughters hard work, hhmmm can we justify two theatre trips in the space of a few months of each other.

Will have to see.

I think it is so great that this show comes to Birmingham! I used to see some adverts for the play in London, thinking that it is really a pity of it being so far away. So now that it is on our door step, it is difficult to say 'no', unless it is too difficult to gather the money for such an outing. It is sad that a place at the theater is so expensive.

I guess that you are aware that there is a film, which is rather kind of a mix up of two of Michael Morpurgo's books, or maybe I should rather say that it is 'War Horse' with some elements of 'Private Peaceful'

(Be careful, 'Private peaceful' (the book) has some elements that some parents are not at ease with. You can pm me if you wish or you read the book first before reading it with your DD).

I was looking forward to watching the film and was enjoying it until the horse "issue". It was about then I started crying and I didn't stop crying until the next crucial moment at which point I turned it off and deleted the video in case I tried to watch it again I wouldn't dare go to the theatre to watch it.

There is a WW1 film I like to watch at Christmas time even if it sets me off crying. It is this one, about the Christmas truce of 1914

I recommend it to you... Just prepare some tissues. The end is very uplifting!!!! I love it!

I am a terrible one for crying at films - Fury gets me every time (fantastic film, worth watching and guess what ... I even cried when I saw the real tank at the museum ).

DS doesn't understand how I still cry at How To Train Your Dragon 2 when Toothless goes under the water... I have to explain that I am "in the moment" I am hoping he still has a bit of kid left in him by the time HTTYD3 comes out as I am sure I can spare a few more tears for that one!

I always thought about going and was staying by the theatre in Edinburgh when it was on, but I cried for days with the book and couldn't even face watching the film...

We took our year 6 children to see the play in London. It was brilliant and they loved it too.
