My son got 237 and didn’t get KEFW. We live 12 miles away. Got Bishop Vesey instead .
Do we have to wait till the 23rd to be on the waiting list?

237 is the cut-off score for KEFW this year - some on 237 have been offered place but not all - only the closest. You will be very high on the waiting list and should have a very good chance of getting in. We don't know at this stage is KEFW made offers over PAN. KECHB definitely didn't so there will be lots of movement for that school. Suggest you phone the KE Foundation office and find out if KEFW made offers over PAN or not. Fingers crossed it's the latter.

I just spoke to KFW and they confirmed they only offered 180 places . What does this mean in terms on waiting list movement and my sons chances to be offered a place ?

I understand there are 180 places in Year 7.

If they have only offered 180 then they have offered to PAN, I would therefore be extremely confident if you are on the cut off score of 237.

I would be extremely confident that you will be offered KEFW.

There is usually lots of movement on the waiting lists.

I envisige more movement this year because CHB have offered PAN where as last year I believe they over offered by 30 places.

To help you feel better this is my niece's story from last year

She scored 229 - first choice FW - placed 50th on the waiting list - received offer in May, started in September.

For the last three years at least, FW have offered places to those who were in the 60's on the waiting list.

I think you will have an offer by the end of March, if not sooner.

I look forward to you sharing your news.
I really feel good news is imminent.

I know of a child who was on the cut off score 3 years ago and he was offered a place quickly, in those days you knew where you were on the waiting list from the onset.

You're on the cut off score which is a great position to be in. I hope you hear very soon so you can finally relax.
