BUCKS 11+ TESTS OCTOBER 2010: Please read before posting!
Hi Everyone
This is a reminder that we post each year around now to ask you NOT to disclose any information about the content of the tests on the Forum.
Out-of-County children take the test at half term, some Partner schools may not administer the tests on the same days as Bucks state schools and there will be late testers everywhere.
You are welcome to make generic comments, but please do not mention which types of question appeared on each paper or make any posts that include vocab used in the papers.
Thank you!
Sally-Anne

Thanks for nudging the thread - I was just thinking of doing the same myself.
Oh crumbs, I hope not - not after last year's debacle!bellybops wrote:perhaps some may even get to see the paper - there are always ways!

I don't get why all the partner schools at least don't do it on the same day!!? Local private school to us is doing it about 3 weeks later! Why? Seems crazy as it's almost inevitable some stuff will leak isn't it?

Really the only risk is if difficult vocabulary is mentioned to tutors, and those tutors then make sure that children who have yet to take the test understand those words. Otherwise there isn't a lot that can be passed on. If a child says "the answer to the first Type Z was such-and-such", you only have their take on it. They could easily be wrong!Seems crazy as it's almost inevitable some stuff will leak isn't it?

Good Luck to all parents and children.
I always recommend parents to "go and have coffee and cake."
I have spent the week sprouting "you can do it, just keep to my rules, just to keep to your method and techniques, make lots of notes, you can do it "
I "jokingly" ask them what time they leave for school as I will be out checking to make sure they are eating their bananas...
What will be, will be. It is now down to the children, all the hard work by parents, tutors and most importantly the children has been done.
One last tip, a bit late for most now, but take your child in as late as possible to avoid them getting caught up in any "hysteria"

Good luck everyone. Hope all your children do well.
My daughter was very pragmatic this morning, saying she isn't worried about the test and is going to treat it as if its just another practise paper.
One more week to go then its all over (until the next one takes it )
As I left for work I reminded her to remember her watch and banana !

Thats bad in itself and will surely give an unfair advantage to those taking the test later. Why on earth doesn't Bucks CC insist the test is taken by everyone on the same days.Sally-Anne wrote:Really the only risk is if difficult vocabulary is mentioned to tutors, and those tutors then make sure that children who have yet to take the test understand those words. .....Seems crazy as it's almost inevitable some stuff will leak isn't it?
