Although useful I don't think the spreadsheet can be used to make informed decisions as it's not representative of the entire cohort which is reflective in the average scores and the fact that over 95% of the results are 'passes'.

No, definitely not. Nice little bit of useful data though, like you say.Leighmum2019 wrote:Although useful I don't think the spreadsheet can be used to make informed decisions as it's not representative of the entire cohort which is reflective in the average scores and the fact that over 95% of the results are 'passes'.

Re: Results for 2019 entry
Can someone explain the standardisation?
DD got
48/60 English
24/60 Maths
Standandardised score 326.227
October birthday
The two raw scores add up to 72 which is the same as those of another DD above (Chino21, 51/60 and 21/60 September birthday, standardised score 329.4) i.e the standardised score for our DD is lower. My assumption was that as the maths was hard, if there was a difference it would be weighted in favour of maths but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Does anyone know what the explanation may be (DD's on the borderline so every point counts!)

The explanation is in the standardisation process applied which is provided on the CSSE websiteAje wrote:Can someone explain the standardisation?

The simple explanation is.. standardization is different in different papers. Same total raw score would not result in same standardized score. In addition, this time age standardization also has been applied.
