Re: Colchester CRGS Sixth Form - external candidates
Has your DD actually been told that her application has been unsuccessful, or just not heard back at all?

Agreed - if people who have applied for the same subjects have heard back, it might be worth contacting the school and just double checking that her application has not been mislayed - but - this may not be the case and it may just be that she did not meet the requirements as highly as some of the other external candidates.

Oh yes, we've had a letter of rejection week before last so no ambiguity there. Prior to that I called the school twice to get them to check if they received her application and as welll as the subsequently requested attained and predicted GCSE grades so we'd done all we could... Thats the point I was making - the standard must've been extremely high to have her application with 9999 and the rest 8s rejected...

Hello everyone, I know of two external students who last year applied, they weren’t invited for an ‘informal chat’ but submitted their GCSE grades on the day they received them and both were offered a place a few days later

My daughter is in colchester county high school for girls for her GCSE.
some of her friends are planning to apply to CRGS for sixth form.
could you advice the pros and cons of applying to CRGS for A levels.
Is it worth applying, if she wishes to pursue STEM subjects? and is there any real benefit for girls ?
thanks
