Wow - thanks for your replies! So much knowledge and experience - thanks so much!
We're still deliberating, but at least we feel clearer about the CAF process and we're going to make our decision later. Interestingly, DH pointed out that as the bus to Ribston passes the end of our road, in some ways it's easier for us in the morning than driving DD to Balcarras - unless others out there know of different transport options from the Bath Road area to Balcarras eg. buses etc?

I know kids who walked it - long walk...
For those concerned that I don't know Chelt - I didn't tell you that I used to live there for a few years - In Lechampton. I have various friemds & family there - including in Charlton Kings
- So I know the area well and it is he type of area we want to live (and work).
What I don't know is what school would best fit my child.
I do know a small hand full of people who went to various local schools - including Balc., Pates, Denmark... and the Private schools...
But no current students...
The replies you have all given assure me that Balc may be the right school.
