Letter has arrived for us too, dd offered a place at SHS

Just wondering if anyone out there got Pates after the reshuffling? We didn't but not that surprised (or disappointed) but would be interested to know how close, or how far away he is!

Reconsideration letters have arrived - ours came about an hour ago.

Got the news I was expecting (but not wanting) - DS unsuccessful for reconsideration for Marling.
We are/were close enough on the WL on allocations day to get in by July, based on last year's movement, but not close enough at this stage. It will be the appeals at Crypt that could make the difference for us.

If anyone on here has been successful during reconsideration for Marling and is happy to share their ranking, that would be appreciated.

And now.....back to waiting...and wondering....and hoping. Good luck to all in similar positions!

Good luck RedMaple - it’s the same for us at SHS. Have asked what position we are now on WL, hoping it’s still quite high... but will consider appealing, and hoping that a few girls want to appeal for Crypt too. Good luck everyone else.

Sorry to hear you weren't successful. Its not definite that we will take the place - we are looking round at the end of April. We have decided not to appeal to Crypt though. Dd is at an independent school at present which goes up to 13.

Thank you Jaethel. I think your DD is a bit higher up the SHS WL than DS is for Marling so you will know sooner but hopefully they will both get in! DD is in Y9 at SHS and has really thrived there.

Yes we will probably ring them too (but think they could be shut for the next few weeks?)
We are really happy with our second choice - it's just that Pates is within walking distance.

We were in the very early 180's and didn't get an offer at the second round. I understand from the forum and Admissions at Pates that they originally offered to 176.
It's a long time to wait until after the Easter holidays to find out more...

Thanks brighteyes. I suspect then that we are very unlikely to get a place at Pates if you didn't (we are in the early 190's) It sounds like there has been very little movement.
DS preferred STR anyway - so at least we now know
