How low will they go?

Post by thisisall2much »

Any predictions on how low the schools will go on allocation day? It's not likely to be as low as last year I expect.

Not a prediction as such, but Pates qualified more this year than last year. Not sure why.

I imagine Pates might have done so because of the CAF being submitted before the results last year which really skewed things for them. Also, it seems as though quite a few who were in the top 150 last year (personal and anecdotal evidence) chose not to go to the school.

According to the council’s survey of numbers by year group in October 2021, Pates had 149 pupils in year 7. So after reconsideration, waiting lists and appeals, by half term they were not full. The other grammars ranged from 150-160.

I can understand schools qualifying a few more this year, just to play it safe.

https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/educ ... e-schools/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This page has it by either age or year group for primary and secondary schools in January, May and October last year.
