Tap tap tap ...... still can't take my mind off the proposed result date! If everything was computerised, surely the marking could be whizzed through in no time ... I've obviously too much time on my hands to be thinking of various ways of shimmying up the results process.

It's always nice to feel part if the bigger picture with all who contribute and feel the same. DD is not bothered about the results, all she cares about is that there is no more CEM practice!!

Sutton Schools that conducted their first stage exam on the same day as HBS have emailed results last week. We're on a 2 week count down now. CEM maths is quite good for Independents and Stage 2, so we're keeping them for another few months. No more Thesaurus or Cloze practice though.
The harder wait will be to 2nd of March, after all Independent exams and all remaining tests are over. That's nearly half a year away.

Hi all I've only just discovered this forum which is a real shame as it such a great source of information and advice.

I'm currently very nervously waiting for results from DAO, Latymer and HBS. I found myself jumping at the sound of a pizza flyer being delivered today, a Sunday when nothings due until the middle of the week! My DD is very relaxed and hasn't mentioned the results for over a week.

I'm really inspired by some of the dates members joined as you've clearly survived it once and felt able to take on the 11+ challenge a second or even third time  With a DS and DD2 waiting in the wings I'm just pleased to have come across this forum now. Better late than never.

Best of luck to everyone watching the letter box.

Hi 11+Utopia welcome to the forum. I wish your DD all the best for her results and hope you get the school you want for her.

It's all new and uncertain with the first child, but it's so much harder second time around. I'm so glad I don't have a third, the process would probably finish me off! We've had bad news for QE for DS but I'm not so bothered by that, Latymer is the one we're really hoping for so that DS can join his big sister there. Personally I don't think it's going to happen and we're focusing on the local comp, which happens to be good, so we're ok with that. Either way, I just wish Latymer would get on with it and get the results out so that we can move on.

Hi Lemondrop. I'm sorry you've had bad news and I really hope your DS gets his first choice. It's so lovely when siblings can attend the same school and acquire those shared stories and experiences.

My DD may have a chance at MHCS. Alternatively, we're on the border of the catchment for a decent comp but our neighbours only got in after a very nervous stint on the waiting list so I'm not hopeful. Otherwise its a comp normally left off most CAF applications. Indies are financially not an option.

I'm already dreading that its going to be harder the second and third time round  Although, I have the chance to do things a little differently. I definitely think I focused on too many schools this time. Multiple choice, standard answers, GL, MH, CEM.... and throwing the music exams into the cauldron :? . I thought if DD knew her subjects the style of questioning didn't really matter but I realise now I may have spread her too thin.

Waiting is awful. I can't believe parents use to feel like this until March

Good luck Lemondrop

So which one is your first choice? I have posted a lot about the dangers of trying to prepare for Latymer, HBS and DAO at the same time as they will be many students specialising in just one of these formats and being thoroughly prepared for that exam. DG

Do you live near me 11+Utopia? Your local comp situation sounds like my area.

Yes DG, I wonder if I should have just focused on CEM for Latymer and forgot about QE altogether :? . Too late now.

Hi Lemondrop, hindsight is great thing, but every child is different so don't beat yourself up over choosing to sit too many exams. From reading your posts you sound like a very level headed person and I am sure that you made choices based on good intentions. Good luck whatever happens.
For prospective parents I suggest you take on board comments from Lemondrop and Dagroupie and tailor the amount of exams you sit depending on what you honestly think your child an cope with. We only sat QEB and DAO exams and DAO music and found that was enough for us. No point torturing yourself.
