https://docs.google.com/gview?url=https ... edded=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I was just looking at the SCD website and came across this document for 2020 transfers...
Have SW gone back to GL for verbal reasoning...
DS1 was in group when they changed from GL to CEM in few months before and now it looks like DS2 will go from CEM to GL !!
Can anyone help with this ?

Well goodness me, the tide has turned full circle.
Better dust off those VR papers.
It does mean that they might be able to get their results out earlier with just one provider.

Yes - see Patricia’s post for GL VR.minalpat78 wrote: I was just looking at the SCD website and came across this document for 2020 transfers...

Gl VR can be learnt in 2,3 months however you should look at other type of VR as well as some type of CEM to avoid surprises.

Has DAO also ditched CEM, or is it standing, Canute like, hoping to keep the GL tide at bay?Daogroupie wrote:Well goodness me, the tide has turned full circle.

Re: SW Herts back to GL for verbal reasoning?
DAO has always been very careful not to refer to CEM which is a policy that HBS adopted when they moved to CEM.
This leaves the door open to be able to move suppliers without actually having to announce it.
CEM is working well as a first round for DAO.
It would be interesting to know percentage of reasoning exams are CEM compared to GL.
I think it is a real shame that SW Herts has moved away from very English based CEM to a more numerical paper especially as they already have a Maths paper and do not have an English paper. DG

I am really surprised at the return to GL.
Does it mean SWHerts and DAO applicants would need to sit separate ‘verbal reasoning’ papers? CEM and GL?

Re: SW Herts back to GL for verbal reasoning?
Indeed it does.
But there is quite a lot of overlap.
What is missing from CEM is the codes and sequencing, ie the Maths part.
So as SW Herts already has a Maths paper and not an English paper it seems odd to abandon English based VR to English and Maths based VR DG

Re: SW Herts back to GL for verbal reasoning?
They have never used GL for VR before, only for maths. It was Moray House before they moved to CEM. I think that the GL papers are more challenging for vocab than Moray House but still with the coding/maths elements etc. Perhaps the consortium see it as a middle ground between CEM and what went before?I am really surprised at the return to GL
Re: SW Herts back to GL for verbal reasoning?
My mistaken assumption about GL, sorry.
Feels like this is big news that no one knows about. All the local mock tests advertising to get SWHerts ready are for CEM style. Not a mention of GL VR.
