DS's scores:
Maths - 126
English - 121
Reasoning - 124
Total - 371
For context, Year 5 NC levels were 5b, 4a, 5b for Reading, Writing and Maths respectively. CAT scores done at the beginning of year 5 were 139, 141, 141. No formal tutor, we used a few Bond 10 minute tests and a GL practice test for familiarisation.

Fab scores @ Kent Mum.
Your DC had amazing CAT scores too - my DS was 100 100 and 117 - I had begun to lose hope at that point.
which school are you going for?

Your DS did great then gravesendgal, must have worked really hard.
DS is a bit of a coaster really, knows he can do well without too much effort, but can get really competitive so hoping the grammar school environment will make him pull his socks up a bit. Should hopefully get a place at Norton Knatchbull.

Just interested, what are those CAT scores for? What do they test?kentmum2011 wrote:DS's scores:

Re: Posting test scores?
@ Salsa I think CATs are Cognitive Ability Tests - and in many ways very similar to 11+ type questioning
The closest you will get anyway. We were told that scores needed to be about 117 in each area to consider 11+

Cognitive ability tests. They're for quantitative, verbal and non verbal reasoning.
Some schools use them as a guide as to which children are suitable for taking the 11+ with scores generally reflecting the previous format of the Kent Test. We were told anything over 120 in each paper was a good indicator for a child taking the test. However I think opinions vary as to how much of a good indicator they really are.
