Re: Second round offers
If the appeals have already taken place and some were successful, they would make the schools over their PAN.
In this case the waiting lists will only move if the number falls below the PAN again.
So even if somebody released the place, the waiting lists might not move.

Quote from the WGSB weekly newsletter:
"The popularity of WGSB continues to grow and this week we held an evening to meet with the parents of all students who are appealing to join the school next year. We have in excess of 200 appeal hearings for the Wilmington Grammar Schools lined up over the next month, so will be very busy indeed."

Quite scary to hear there are 200 appeals for Wilmington Grammar. What I do find strange is that the appeals appear to be a tick box exercise with very little chance of success . Why take on so many appeals and utilise resources of the school when they know 199 out of the 200 are bound to fail ?
Re: Second round offers
One year 30 appeals were upheld. The school had to open an extra form. It is the parents' right to appeal. The school cannot do anything about it.lefol wrote:Quite scary to hear there are 200 appeals for Wilmington Grammar. So relieved, DS got offered a place off the waiting list at Skinners today. It's been a stressful wait, but worth it in the end!
DS scored 371 and was 8th on the waiting list after 28th April offers went out.
Keep the faith people, there IS movement!
