Re: Out of Catchment
Hi
My son scored 400 and we live in Harrow. I am planning to apply for Judd school, the website says 2019 OOC cut off was 402 and we are just 2 marks shy off last year cut off. Can anyone please advise if we are in safe zone with 400 score for Judd. I m not in a position to relocate yet but willing to relocate once seat is confirmed (before aug 2020)...

It's hard to say I guess, it looks like less OOC have passed this year, but no one knows what the exact impact of that would be. Wishing you all the bestARCH wrote:Hi

Last year there were 3065 OOC passes: https://www.kentlive.news/news/kent-new ... ly-2097274" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This year 2794: https://www.kentonline.co.uk/kent/news/ ... ay-214320/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thats very useful, thanks for that.arewenearlythere wrote:Last year there were 3065 OOC passes: https://www.kentlive.news/news/kent-new ... ly-2097274" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But if you notice, the no of kids who 'attended' test has reduced by around 430 from last year but the no.of kids 'passed' didnt deviate much - 7706 last year and 7690 this year - just a difference of 16kids which according to me is not worth marking the difference and can be considered same as last year.
My Concerns:
1. Another downside (for me) is that 300 more kids from Kent have passed this year meaning they are very much eligible to be considered into OOC category if there is an over subscription.
2. Though less number of OOC kids have passed (around 300 kids less than last year) this doesnt mean the cut off could slip down. Also the kent kids can grab the OOC quota as per their website (e.g. Judd) if they have scored more.
3. Another stat I am keen to find out is from OOC category last year there are around 240 kids were 400+ scorers, can we find out how many 400+ scorers are from this year? Wish Council gives that details.

Re: Out of Catchment
I have emailed KCC to aske when they will publish the Kent Test Report 2019 which will give those last stats you're after. No answer yet but will let you know when I hear back
Here are the previous ones: https://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-c ... test#tab-5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If i read it correctly, they will not publish this score until december or Jan because the waiting list for 2019 admissions is maintained till Jan 2020.. I really doubt if they would be in a position to give that... anyways let me wait and watch..thanks..

The people at KCC a re very helpful and efficient i am sure that they will respond aa soon as they can. They will be extremely busy today.

Re: Out of Catchment
Even though as you say there were about 240 kids who scored 400+, the spread matters. For instance 400+ scorers in Gravesham area would most likely not be after Judd, I think Kent will release the spreadsheet next week and the statisticians can help to predict the cut offs.ARCH wrote:Thats very useful, thanks for that.arewenearlythere wrote:Last year there were 3065 OOC passes: https://www.kentlive.news/news/kent-new ... ly-2097274" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Out of Catchment
I received a reply from KCC on when they wil publish the Kent Test 2019 Excel report i.e. a report which shows the number of children who scored each total score, broken down by district and gender. This will enable amateur statisticans out there to work out likley cut-offs.
The email from the helpful KCC person says "The report is under review and will be uploaded to the website once it has been agreed. I cannot give you an exact timescale but I imagine there will be information on the website by next week".
