Comprehension
Hai all
My girl is going to take 11 plus exams this September. She is good at maths verbal and non verbal but bit struggling in English mainly comprehension mainly she can’t finish it in time if so, she gets most questions wrong. She is Oct born so we need more raw scores to get more standardisation score. Can anyone suggest how to improve it from your experience pls.

Re: Comprehension
Encourage her to read, discuss what she is reading. Watch read and talk about the news. The Week Junior can be helpful. If when she is reading she can ‘read’ a word but doesn’t understand it this is often a key reason comprehension can become stilted. Pick out a particularly hard word in a book or article she had just read and ask her to reuse it in a sentence to see if she really gets it. You can make it fun and not feel like hard work.
