help on maths question please
The number of insects in a colony doubles each week. If there were 100 insects in the colony at the start of the first week,
(a) how many would there be after 6 weeks ?
Confused as to whether the answer is 3200 in the 6th week or 6400 at the start of the 7th week. With the wording saying after 6 weeks, I'm not sure which one it would be
thanks in advance

Badly worded, but "after six weeks" implies six lots of doubling so I would go for 6400

It depends on in which week the insects are told to self isolate...(and whether or not they take any notice)
(in answer to your question I would agree that its 6400. 'After 1 week' it would be 200, not still 100. After 2 weeks 400 etc)
