what is LCM of 3 & 9, is it 9 or 18

3 x 3 = 9
1 x 9 = 9

my answer is also 9
but it seems 18 is LCM of 3 and 9, this was told to my kid

3 6 9 12 15 18

9 18 27 36

hence 18

But in that example, the series still intersect at 9...?
