kingsmead school hoylake, wirral
does anyone have any recommendations or advice re this school, particularly SEN issues? what sort of school ethos is it, does it compare to birkenhead school or the grammars, what is the reputation etc, much appreciated thanks

I'd say they are both excellent schools for very different reasons and depends what you are looking for in terms of SEN. In a nut shell I'd say Birkenhead is very academic and sporty, at least level to a Grammar but not known for SEN support, whilst Kingsmead offers great taylor made SEN support in small class sizes, nurturing each child's potential by offering great Pastoral Care and a Christian Ethos. They pride themselves that every child will succeed to their best ability and pupils have a broad range of ability. Their brightest pupils gain excellent GCSE results. Birkenhead has a sixth form, Kingsmead doesn't. Hope this is helpful.Have you looked at their website?
