I find the Usborne Illustrated Thesaurus invaluable for helping with this type of problem - more for similars than opposites - but once vocabulary starts to extend the opposites should fall into place more easily.

Thanks Yoyo for the toast game. My dd loves it, and if I'm being honest I loved it too.

Looks good, just ordered, thanks, I do wish people would stop recommending books.Suet33 wrote:I find the Usborne Illustrated Thesaurus invaluable for helping with this type of problem - more for similars than opposites - but once vocabulary starts to extend the opposites should fall into place more easily.

Ha ha - love it! Actually it's not quite as OT as you thought - it turns out his tables seem to have taken a bit of a tumble lately and he's not quite as quick off the ball as he should be for some VR maths questions, so this "quick fire" exercise is just the kind of thing to get him on his toes. Anyway, I know that maths isn't a major part of the test but if the vocabulary knowledge is a bit shaky then it could be the thing that swings the result.yoyo123 wrote:(slightly off topic as this is maths BUT .....)hermanmunster wrote:yoyo123 wrote:this is a really good synonym game
