What 'hard' evidence is there to say an 11+ mock is helpful?

May be conduct a survey of those who sat for these mocks?

There is no proper comparison of the effects of a mock though. You can't compare with 'no mock' ...

I think the 'benefits' are overblown by those that qualify - I'd be interested to hear whether those who aren't successful feel the same?

Lack of available data to compare 'No mocks' and 'Mocks' does not diminish value of these mocks for those feel these mocks valuable experience. Personally, in our case, these were invaluable as far as test experience goes.

Anyone manage to book the SGS mock tests so far today?

Have been tempted to go for the Wallington ones instead, but as my DS is at Sutton I'd rather give my money to the Sutton PTA! Will keep trying.

Yes me too, would rather give money to SGS, when do the Wallington ones open?

They're open now - quite a few of their dates are the same as the Sutton ones.
