Re: Sutton SET (Selective Eligibility Test) Round 1 results
If the Mods would kindly move this to the Surrey section, you might get some more replies.
Although the number of people in N. London who are also sitting for Sutton is probably more than Scary Mod imagines!!
Moved and merged with existence no thread

Re: Sutton SET (Selective Eligibility Test) Round 1 results
I reckon the number in the title is just the batch number.ss1612 wrote:Hi,
The Sutton results are out for Round 1 and selected girls are invited for Round 2 on Sat 28-Sep.
Any idea what does number in the title of the email mean? It seems the emails are sent in batches. Anyone got email before 11 AM?
Any suggestions for Round 2 preparations for the next 3-4 days?
Prep should be things like memorising a few 'emergency' endings for a story etc. A handful of useful metaphors or similes to drop in. Planning structure of formal letters or newspaper articles.
Maths is a touch harder, the questions on the WHSG website FAQs are a good guide.

Re: Sutton stage 1 - 11 plus results
Received an email saying invited for second stage for Sutton Grammar but not for Wilson. Any idea what could be the reason?
Re: Sutton stage 1 - 11 plus results
Wilson’s have a higher SET mark cut off for stage 2 eligibility than Sutton Grammar.
It means your son has reached or exceeded the Sutton Grammar stage 2 cut off mark but not reached the Wilson’s stage 2 eligibility mark.
He has done well to be eligible for Sutton Grammar stage 2.

Re: Sutton stage 1 - 11 plus results
Both Wallington Girls and Nonsuch have the same SET cut off score for stage 2 eligibility. Even cutoff to meet selective ability after stage 2 will be same for both schools. However Nonsuch seem to have high cut off score for admission than admission to wallington girls.magic16 wrote:Hi,

Re: Sutton stage 1 - 11 plus results
Last year 1055 candidates sat stage 2 for Nonsuch and Wallington Girls, and of those 938 passed all three components, so pretty high. Last year we reckoned a mark of around 324 got you in OOC for Nonsuch. See last year's thread to see how the list moved after 1 March.
Re: Sutton stage 1 - 11 plus results
I have a question on Nonsuch/Wallington 2nd stage test English paper. The instructions mention that the writing task must be done using a black/blue pen.
our DD has been only using pencil at school and she is not comfortable with pens yet. Is it okay if she does the writing task in pencil? will it result in reduction of marks just for using pencil?
Can someone help?
