How likely will NLCS waiting list move?

Hi there, I don't know specifically about NLCS, but my DS was on a waitlist and I was told there was a very slim chance he would get in as they hadn't had that much movement in previous years. I hung in there, mainly because I had no choice; I emailed and said we were still very keen. Delighted to say we got the call on Wednesday AM, and we were offered a place! It can still happen.

what happens to scholarship places that were not taken up in the initial round of places offered?

All I know is that during last year's intake they had more acceptances than expected, so they had to create an extra class.
