Yes - each pupil has a UPN (unique pupil number) so all records are passed on electronically.

I take more notice of KS2 test marks than the VR score ...

We give them a KS2 test paper or something similar to baseline them. This is refined by other tests when they can be ranked alongside those we DO have a mark for.

Don't think they do that in the the wilds of Yorkshire - am sure kids would have said if been given a separate paper to do! One of them did MidYis - t'other didn't (I don't think?)

Both of mine have had predictions specifically stated as being based on CAts and MidYis. SATs results have never been referred to.

Chalk sticks at dawn, G55?

our son had Midyis tests when they joined the new secondary - their prep did not do any SATS.

What is a good score for the Misyis?

Schools CAN do what they like but Ofsted will judge from the KS2 test levels so any schools that takes no notice of these levels could be a regarded as reckless!

S-A what is this 'chalk' of which you speak?

Level 5 in SATs will mean that the school will set high targets for your child. Passing the 11+ is not enough. Plenty of children start grammars with level 3 in English or maths. The grammar school teachers are aware that many children are heavily tutored for the 11+, this is why they use measures such as CATs and MidYis. Low levels in Key stage 2 exams will reduce their expectations of your child.

The tests are easy for any reasonably bright child. I wouldn't worry too much. If you want to do some practice then visit the emaths website and download some past papers.
