Re: Oversubscriptiion appeal.
We were told to send our details to the Chair of Governers and needless to say their statement countered ours, followed by me in a mad rush countering theirs with further information. Lol

Re: Oversubscriptiion appeal.
Good luck for tomorrow bizziebee. We had our appeal on Tuesday and think today was the first day in a long while where we felt normal!
Re: Oversubscriptiion appeal.
Sadly just heard that our appeal wasn't upheld, it would seem our son is too able and talented at the school in question specialities that he doesn't really need a grammar school as he will do well wherever he goes! Very disappointed but I guess life isn't fair.

Re: Oversubscriptiion appeal.
Have heard today that 4 appeals for South Wilts were held up (although they had 9 spaces).

Sorry to hear that Bizziebee, at least you know you did everything you could. I'm sure he'll wow everyone at his new school and do incredibly well despite their bad choice rather than because of.
Re: Oversubscriptiion appeal.
Thought that the questions would end now that we have our result! Prior to our appeal, our son was 4th on e waiting list, after calling today to see if there had been any change, we were informed that he has gone to 6th........2 out of 20 appeals were upheld ( 13 non qualification and 7 oversubscription). The admin registrar explained that in order to accommodate the 2 over PAN, the first 2 spaces are left blank so when/ if two boys leave they are no longer over pan. Does this sound normal practice to anyone and if it is, surely it should have been clarified at time of group one appeal so sorry to bang on but v.v disappointed and confused. Thank you
Re: Oversubscriptiion appeal.
It wouldn't necessarily be mentioned at stage 1, as the waiting list is entirely separate from the appeals process.
However, it is correct that any successful appeals have an impact on the waiting list, because numbers will have to fall back below PAN before a vacancy becomes available.
It's in our Q&As:
