Totally agree with all that's gone before, and think Nell's point an interesting one. My Italian sister in law and my Swiss sister in law wouldn't think twice about barging in with a quick one two and here we are all so polite and cautious and anxious and afraid to offend. Things are all too easy on the computer and these kids have no idea of the effect of what they are doing, of the loss of "tone" on a screen (h*ll, us lot can't always manage it) and sometimes they need an abrupt word to save them from themselves.nell wrote: Why do we worry so much about standing up to these people.
CM you did absolutely the right thing so feel good about it!

I think your reply was absolutely spot-on, it looked very considered and firm. If I was that other girl, I would have been terrified, not necessarily by what you said (which was perfect), but by the fact that you had actually said something !
Well done to you. My DS was bullied at school years 2-3-4. I had to exercise all my self-control not to "approach" the child and hang him from the school gate by his ears !!! Made it worse by his mother being a teaching assistant in the same classroom, who also socialised with the teachers. Thankfully, bully and mother both left the school in year 5. Seems I had been one of many who had complained to the school.
Well done again, don't worry, you said nothing untoward and I'm sure there won't be any fall-out.
