Just come to this thread so not read the replies.
Obviously I am very biased in favour of music but in this circumstance I think he should do the mock trial. His music should not be at the expense of his academic education/enrichment and he will end up feeling resentful and may give up more of his music if he feels he can never have the very rare day off. As a parent you could say that you feel it is necessary that he does this, and then it takes the onus off him.

Thanks WFG - I am usually more biased towards music as well, but I think we'll take your advice. At least my husband will - he can do the phoning, I'm too much of a wimp.

Oh yes, I may be a wimp, but I can e-mail. What I can't do is speak to anyone, I am a mouse There is no way to get in touch with scary man other than phoning, so OH has to do it.Waiting_For_Godot wrote:
