Thanks for your reply. I was so cross with the teacher for saying anything in front of my niece, that will do wonders for her confidence. When xxxxx got upset at the meeting the teacher said "Oh come on there's no need for tears. I wish I had been there. My own daughter is at Uni studying to become a primary school teacher and she couldn't believe it.
Apparently her private tutor, who is an ex teacher of my niece at the same school, is going to discuss it further with her teacher. We are talking about a child who got all 3's in her ks1 Sats and is on the top table for english and maths. I think the teacher is reading too much into these CAT scores, especially so far in advance.
