Thanks all so much for your great ideas - I really appreciate them.

The good news is, it doesn't have to be in until the end of next week so we have days and days to talk about it and try all types of methods until all the family make something suitable and impressive :roll:

Just one other thing, DS wants to make small bushes/trees/reeds - what shall we make them out of - or don't we bother?

Bits of sponge dipped in green paint? Don't model railway shops have stacks of this sort of thing.....??

For trees (when I helped my DD with her Easter garden) I used pipe cleaners painted brown and then stuck on bits of tissue paper for the leaves.
