Think this one has been answered before somewhere - it was definitely one of the ones where we struggled to find the answer. Don't know if this is right or not, but:
one circle stays in the same position (top left) throughout
the other circle moves from corner to corner in a clockwise direction and the bit of it which overlaps with the circle which stays put is shaded black
thus in diagram 1 the second circle is bottom right corner and overlaps a small bit with first cicle
in diagram 2 it is bottom left and overlaps a small bit with frist circle
in diagram 3 it is in exactly the same position as first crircle so is all shaded
in diagram 4 (missing) it must be in top right corner as in answer c
in diagram 5 it is in bottom right again.
Does this make sense?
