The 'fail' word was completely banned here. I said to DS that if he was lucky enough to receive a place, then that was great, but that it was only one test on one day and didn't mean that he wasn't clever. The main point we pushed was that it just offered another choice.

We talked about the other schools available to him and I really praised his other main choice (rather too much as he then started saying that he would go there instead :oops: ).
