Re: GCSE results date 2017

What happens if someone is away on the results day? Will they just get posted to the home address?

Re: GCSE results date 2017
I wouldn't advise it as some Sixth forms require you to confirm your place. IF GCSE result are unexpected they might need some negotiation of options.
Most schools have a system for absentees:
* leave a stamped addressed envelope
* student writes a letter giving someone permission to pick them up [the person needs ID]
Edexcel makes results available online to students via a protected website and some schools may put results on their portal.

Thank you very much, I didn't realise it could matter if we were around on the day or not. I haven't even thought about Sixth Form yet, still trying to get my head round the GCSEs!Guest55 wrote:I wouldn't advise it as some Sixth forms require you to confirm your place. This is why I was wondering, thanks again.

Just check when you apply - schools should make it clear whether students should attend in person to collect their results.

If your DC is changing schools, they may have to present themselves and their results at the new school.Guest55 wrote:Just check when you apply - schools should make it clear whether students should attend in person to collect their results.

He's planning on staying at his current school, but I guess we need a back up plan.
