The last rank to get in on allocation day has always gone beyond 100 in the past 17 years and usually stops in the early teens. It usually moves another 12 to 15 places on the waiting list.

Last year when the Head retired after eleven years the ranks were about the same on allocation day but then there was a big drop from 113 to 143 for places by the start of term in September.

The academic ranks to get in for the last five years are listed below:

2012 118 156

As you can see the amount of places given up was going down each year and then suddenly last year they went up again because of the Head leaving.

I expect the allocation rank to be more like 2015 and 2014. Below 110 on allocation day and in the 120's for the start of term.

The Music ranks to get in for the past five years are as follows:

2016 12 21 ( nine places given up)

2015 15 15 ( not a single place given up)

2014 12 13 ( one place given up)

2013 14 14 (not a single place given up)

2102 11 (not known)

For all those waiting for news in Herts you will not hear anything until around 5pm. Herts County Council waits for the end of the school day before starting to send the batch of emails. DG

129? It would appear that the factor of having a new head combined with HBS applicants for the 1st time knowing their result before the CAF application is having an effect on the numbers that have applied to DAO.
