DAO
Yesterday we received a letter from Hertfordshire borough to say that the had not received confirmation from us about whether we were going to accept or decline our place at DAO even though the deadline had passed. We live in Barnet borough and had already accepted our DAO place with them and have in return received a confirmation of acceptance email five days prior to the deadline.
Has anyone else received an email from Hertfordshire borough?
I did call Barnet admissions team and they said that they hadn't sent over the acceptances to the relevant boroughs yet. So anyone waiting to hear for wait list places, hang tight, it might be a slow, long, painful wait!!
They did say that anyone waiting to hear about wait list places that the letters will be sent on the 31st March and the relevant family's will be given two weeks to make a decision, which I thought was a bit silly sending letters at the start of Easter holidays when it is likely that many people will go away!

Re: DAO
Thanks for this information.
The deadline was over a week ago so I don't understand why it is taking them so long to get the information over!

Re: DAO
Thanks for the update. Very helpful.
Two weeks is far too long for a family that had already put DAO a higher preference than another school.
NLCS made parents decide on the spot when they phoned offering places. They did not even give the parent the chance to discuss it with their dd who would actually be going to the school for seven years.
This is the other extreme. A few days perhaps but two weeks is not required and it just delays the process for everyone. This soon after allocation day surely parents who had changed their mind would have come off the waiting list? DG

Re: DAO
Why does it take so long? What is the last date to accept offers? Dg
