It was similar in dd's year (current year 11).
I think she has 8 forms of nearly 30 (PAN 221? from memory) whereas the normal years have 7 forms.
I'm sure it is a hassle for the school but it hasn't caused a problem for the students.

Siblings has gone from 71 to 95 in one year.

There is a multiple birth in the Islington allocation, probably triplets. DG

That's really close by the school for distance- it's about four roads! There were obviously a lot of distance and sibling applications this year.

Almost a 25% increase from the 71 last year.

This has taken PAN to 215 to have room for all the siblings. DG

Yes, so many siblings that nobody got a distance place apart from the 22 closest children. We knew the distance would be small this year but didn't know how small!

We will stay on the waiting list until the end of Y6 as we put DAO first but we will be very low down on the list. I doubt many would not accept their place.

What I do like about DAO, in light of the HBS debacle, is that you do receive a kindly worded personalised letter from the headteacher in the post, clearly detailing your rank and on which Continuing Interest lists you are held (distance and exam for us), so you know exactly where you stand. Unfortunately we are not going to get a place, but their admissions system is clear and efficient.

11 children from our school have a place, 2 exam, 1 music, the rest siblings. Plus one exam who went elsewhere.

It's really close. Not even all of the applicants from Wellesley Crescent have a place. It's really just Rushfield and the very top of Santers Lane and Dugdale Hill Lane - for the last 4 years, they have taken >22 local families.
