234 4.1 miles from QE was not offered a place but it is still possible that any 234 closer to QE than 4.1 miles could have been offered a place.

234 in Harrow didn’t get a place. Do we get placed on waiting list automatically? The eadmissions site is only allowing us to either accept or reject the second choice. Grateful for advice.

Accept your second choice anyway - otherwise you risk having no school at all. In the mean time the waiting list should move, hopefully enough for you.StressedUnicorn wrote:234 in Harrow didn’t get a place. Do we get placed on waiting list automatically? Yes Harrow will not get a place if 4.1 miles away does not get the place.
You will be placed on the waiting list. DG

Good luck everyone!
Re: QE BOYS lowest score to secure a place on Monday 1st Mar
Is there any way we can find out historical scores to compare allocation day cut off with actual cut off in September. I know for last year it was 232 in March, then 229 in September.
It would just give an indication of movement.
Also does anyone know the number of offers made on WL on average, over the last day 5 years?
Thanks

This data will not help you.
Things have changed so much in the last 5 years. Numbers applying have gone up by almost a third. Numbers turning down a place have gone down.
QE is just going to go on going up and up and being harder and harder to get into.
This year 235 on allocation day, last year 232.
12 more spaces were added 5 years ago and still the score to get a place continues to rise.
It normally just moves a couple of scores, 232 to 229 last year, 3 scores and not everyone on 229 got a place.
This year it could just be 2, 235 to 233.
I will be surprised if it reaches 232 this year. 233 is more likely.
Look at the DAO ranks. 29 ranks down which is 45% of the places that were available last year not becoming available this year.
An inexorable pattern.
Parents are finally waking up to the reality that the top grammars hold all the ingredients required for a great education with great teachers, great peer groups and great university and job opportunities.
Some of us have known that a lot longer than others. DG

QE stopped at 235 this year. 3 scores up from last year.
Not all 235s got a place. Number one on the waiting list is on 235.
Both DAO and QE results are sending a message this year. More parents are holding onto the top state school places. DG

What you're saying makes sense. We're just trying to figure out our realistic chances.
We are within position 15 on the WL with 234.
In your opinion, which I value, is it likely that the WL would go down that far?
