Winning Formula?
Hi,
My son plans to take the 11+ examinations in Calderdale in Dec 2011.
He is now enrolled with a tutor for 1 day a week with the 11+ in mind.
Are there other initiatives I should take to maximise his chances of being successful?
ie. is there material that can be recommended for him to work through etc...
Any advice surrounding preparation would be gladly welcomed.
Thanks

Hi Fanfax,
Welcome to the forum.
Improving vocabulary is one of the most difficult areas to improve. Encouraging reading, word games and a dictionary are a good place to start. I would also recommend thoroughly learning the times tables for fast recall. This will help with the VR and the Maths.
I used some of the VR papers on this thread http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum/ ... php?t=4782" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
For maths I used Bond.
Hope that helps but feel free to ask if you have any questions.
