Ryde College
Has anyone used this? Was thinking about it for DS to help him catch up. Does anyone know the cost of the courses and if lots of work has to be done at home? Are there similar better course elsewhere?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Ryde College
Is this the same college that puts 6-8 year olds for GCSEs?

Yes but it also deals with strugglers! I'm looking for genuine information, not the rights and wrongs. I have no interest in any exam.999 mum wrote:Is this the same college that puts 6-8 year olds for GCSEs?

I am sorry - I wasn't criticising, I just wanted to know it was the same place.Waiting_For_Godot wrote:Yes but it also deals with strugglers! I'm looking for genuine information, not the rights and wrongs. I have no interest in any exam.
I vaguely know a child that went there and came away with a GCSE at eight. I know that he did a lot of work after school, but he also joined in with after school clubs a couple of nights a week. He is now at a grammar school and coming up top in a lot of subjects.

What I think you need, WFG, is someone that will highlight the gaps in learning that your DS2 has. The APP resources might be helpful as they give the steps in learning at each level.
