Official test announcement
I think it would be fair to say that you read it here first ...

"The preparation papers will not be marked or taken away from the school."
This immediately begs an obvious question...

Thank you, wifeofquirky. I am trying to surf several websites at once on a PC with a dodgy graphics card, so it keeps crashing. (Bucks Examiner, why are you doing this to me?)
That has provided our first conundrum. In the BFP article it states:
That has provided our first conundrum. In the BFP article it states:
And yet the BCC Q&A states ...Tim Cornford, who previously worked for the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, is a consultant on the new scheme.
He said in taking on the role coaching was one of the priorities and concerns identified. He said: "Since the tests have become multiple choice the amount of coaching has increased. The perceived effectiveness of that coaching has increased, I call it perceived because there is not any data.
I couldn't see any way that the test would be other than multiple choice, with the sheer numbers dictating machine marking, but there is a contradiction here somewhere.9. How will the tests be marked?
The two tests will be machine‐marked. The tests will be in a multiple‐choice format and the
pupils will complete machine‐readable answer sheets.

Yes indeed! Thank you all! xheartmum wrote:'elevenplusexams' - always in the knowSally-Anne wrote:I think it would be fair to say that you read it here first ... http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/news/10 ... 11__exams/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I picked up on that little contradiction about multiple choice too, Sally-Anne - to be honest I can't see how they can do anything other than multiple choice, because the cost of marking thousands of non-MC papers by hand would be phenomenal!

I stand to be corrected, but I don't read that as him saying that the tests won't be multiple choice this year ....
I too can't see how they can be anything else but multiple choice.
