2017 Results / 2018 Entry : Warwickshire Scores/Ranks only

Post by Here_goes »

Moved to the top of the thread: -

I have been really sad and have kept a spreadsheet, as dd2 is sitting next year, and I thought that this year's data would help me work out her chances based on rankings from this year. So, here's what I have gleaned so far. Feel free to correct me. I have made the assumption that where we have data for all children and, say, all girls, that the all boys ranking will be the balance (that of course may be completely wrong, but should give a rough estimate).

The data is set out as score - rank all children (shared with): rank all boys (shared with) : rank all girls (shared with). The 0's mean no data.

SCR - ALL (shared with) : Boy (shared with): Girl (shared with)
250+ Not necessary

241 - 0237 (19): 120 (11) : 121 (00) (some anomaly for this ranking, another boy ranked 119 on this score)

Text in bold means the data has been provided on this forum. Non-bold is either where the 'shared-with' data allows us to glean the next score down or where I have guestimated a ranking as mentioned in above narrative.

Would be useful if people could use this thread JUST for results/rank info rather than congratulations and commiserations as it can then get difficult to read through it all.

The more info about ranks for all Southern/Eastern and Southern/Eastern girls/boys and scores, the more useful the thread is for those who might be nearer the middle ground ranks.

I am sure other old hands will be keeping a beady eye on here tomorrow with me, but please do remember that some people will be very disappointed. Please don't just register to boast about how well your child has done, or ask daft questions like my DD is ranked 2 out of all girls, will that be good enough for.....?

And remember that if the news is not what you wanted, everything happens for a reason and it absolutely NOT the end of the world!

Hi All, my son sat his exam in Warwickshire but we asked for his results to be shared with Birmingham. When I rang the Birmingham 11 plus consortium they told me my sons score over the phone. Warwickshire refused to do so. Also, when I rang Warwickshire council at 4pm on Friday afternoon they still hadn't posted the results so I think its highly unlikely that we'll get the Warwickshire marks by Saturday morning. So, if anyone else has requested for their mark to be shared with Birmingham this may be a quicker way of ascertaining your child's mark.

My son scored 267 for Birmingham. I was given a b/d of 134 for Maths and NVR and 133 for Eng and VR. From what I've been told we may have a slightly different score for Warwickshire - though I'm not sure. I'm still in shock and until I see the results on paper I won't be able to believe it - but we are going to party this weekend non the less. :D Good luck to all!

Just to bring this thread to the top - again, a reminder please, just use this thread for SCORES/RANKS information only, not "congratulations/commiserations" as the thread becomes too unwieldy to manage effectively.

PLEASE also remember that you will get short shrift if you register here for the first time just to boast about a particularly high score, (or stealth boast "my child got ***...I wonder if this is enough for....school?") Whilst you should all be proud of your child's efforts, some people will genuinely be distraught and confused today and over the next few days as they will have to rethink their plans so please be mindful of that.

Can you confirm the Southern girls or Eastern girls ranking (not sure which area you are!)

Got it -

DD got 216
923 out of 2930 - All children
468 out of 1448 - All girls

there is no ranking for eastern girls or all eastern children.

Chances for RHS?

I assume you are applying out of country hence no ranking.

Check thread for previous years to see if you can find someone with the same score last year. This will give an indication of chances.
