11+ Entrance date clashes
Hi All,
Currently we have registered for Mill Hill and Slough Consortium.
But Dates are clashing.
Mill hill will not provide alternative dates , unless medical reasons or Religious reasons.
Is anyone having same issues? What suggestions to deal with this?
Thanks
Viking.

Re: 11+ Entrance date clashes
You are posting in the Maths section.
Your post is not about Maths.
Pls post in general topics.
Mill Hill should give you a backup date, they have done in the past when it clashed with DAO.
Why have you chosen these two schools with different formats?
Any reason you are not sitting QE if you are looking for non catchment? DG

Re: 11+ Entrance date clashes
I’ve moved this thread which now appears in Berks and Herts
Re: 11+ Entrance date clashes
Where do you live which enables your dc to commute easily to Slough and Mill Hill?
Re: 11+ Entrance date clashes
We live in stanmore. We are writing QE boys too but how do we address the date clash?
Re: 11+ Entrance date clashes
You will have to decide which school you prefer. This is par for the course with exam tourism.
Re: 11+ Entrance date clashes
Mill Hill usually comes to an arrangement with the other local schools so that they avoid clashes or make it easier - for example 5 years ago, the DAO and MH exams were the same day and parents were asked to tick a box on the application form if they were sitting both exams - then the schools arranged for those students to sit at separate times of the day.
However these are for local schools.
MH would not expect people to be sitting for them and for schools in Slough or another part of the country and I imagine they will not do anything to provide an alternative date. You will have to decide in which area you intend to remain and which schools' tests you therefore decide to put your child in for.

How does the journey to MHCHS compare with the journey to QE or to Slough?

Re: 11+ Entrance date clashes
I think the DAO and Latymer clash is going to be a painful one for many parents as per this thread: https://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum ... ilit=clash" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A lot of parents genuinely try for both schools and hope to receive one offer. Whilst I understand the tight budgets and the increasingly difficult conundrum to keep finances under control, it's also really tough on non-mock tourist parents who genuinely aspire to get their children into one of these excellent schools
