Help with CAF
We live in Hounslow.
Our 1st pref is Tiffin girls, but need help in deciding the order for other options. My son is in Tiffin Boys. Wife job is in Kingston.
My daughter has cleared all her exams and will get any school if we opt for it.
Slough - Mixed, but low in the ranking.
Upton Court
Langley
St Bernard
Hershel
HBS - High in ranking, but quite far.
Nonsuch - relatively low in rank but if have to choose will prefer HBS over Nonsuch in order.
Appreciate any advice which can help me to decide.
Thanks

I would choose whatever is easiest for travel, given that your son is at Tiffin Boys. Whsy did you think when you visited them? How would you manage with one at HBS and one at Tiffin? Surely that would be unsustainable?
They are all good schools, if your DD is clever enough to pass all those exams, I am sure she will do well wherever she goes.

"HBS quite far in the rankings. " Are you talking about Group B or Group C?
If so don't waste a CAF space on it unless you have one to spare.
It won't reach C and is unlikely to reach B. Two years ago 185 dds were allocated to Group A and there were still Group A's on the waiting list by September. DG

Ah yes.
I just reread it.
I can see it does mean far as in distance. Thanks for pointing that out.
OP , do you have a Group A ranking?
How far in distance is it?
How long would the journey take? DG

Re: Help with CAF
She got 129 in Slough, so assuming that even if we are in Hounslow we will get any of the Slough schools. She is in Band A in HBS.
By ranking, I meant school ranking. As we don't know what will be the Tiffin Girls results so have to choose other options.
Also, I am confused in which order shall I fill Slough schools. and not sure which will be better - Mixed or girls only. I am hoping we will get 1st pref but as a backup have to pick 2nd and 3rd option.
Will HBS will be worth a travel? I guess coach buses go from Hounslow to HBS but feel that she will not be able to take part in any clubs which runs after school. She is quite good at sports, definately want her to participate in as many clubs as she can.

Re: Help with CAF
You have so many other options.
HBS is not worth the travel when you have all these choices and you want her to participate in sports.
Matches played against other schools are usually after school.
Personally I would chose mixed as it is better preparation for University and the real world. DG

Any advice on which order shall I fill Slough school ?
Re: Help with CAF
Start with the one you and she preferred when you visited, and then put the one you liked next best when you visited, and so on.mutenMax wrote:Any advice on which order shall I fill Slough school ?
