Missed deadline for grammar sch for 11+ what options

I was thinking about private schools but now we can see the chsnge in our circumstances and cannot afford. My DS will be in Year 6. I realise our mistake that we did not register for grammar.

What options do we have we applying late/ 12 +?
We live in West London but can relocate as long as can get to work within the reasonable distance...

If your DS is going into year 6 then one option would be to look at non selective schools and make sure you complete the CAF by the end of October. There are some schools that allow for 12+ entry but I think places are few and far between.

It is a shame that you missed out.

As it is free of charge it is always worth applying just in case your circumstances change.

You will not now be able to apply for a place in Y7 but you can register with the schools you are interested in and they are likely to hold an exam to replace any students who leaves during Y7.
