Question 45.

5 Bangs make a Bing and 8 Bings make 3 Bongs.
Jon has 7 Bangs, 3 Bings and 9 Bongs.
If he changes all of his Bings and Bongs to Bangs, how many Bangs will Jon
have altogether?

This is how I worked out the answer:

1. you have to work backwards so 3 Bongs ake 8 Bings therefore 9 Bongs will make 24 Bings.
2. Now add the 3 Bings to the 24 Bings = 27 Bings.
3.Now 1 Bing = 5 Bongs so 27 * 5 = 135 Bangs
4.You have 7 Bangs on its own so add to 135 Bnags = 135 + 7 = 142 Bangs altogether.

Please- is this method to the answer correct?

Can anyone help me with with question?

Start at the end and work backwards?

9 Bongs = 3 lots of '3 Bongs'
'3 Bongs' = 8 Bings
3 lots of 8 Bings = ## Bings
Add the 3 Bings also mentioned, = ??
Each Bing = 5 Bangs
So the number of Bangs Jon has is the ?? Bings, times 5, plus the 7 Bangs also mentioned
etc...

Or short circuit it a bit; each 3 Bongs is (8x5 =) 40 Bangs, etc
